Bureau Definition:

A Cryptid is defined as any biological organism that possesses a stable breeding population but remains unrecognized by the mainstream scientific consensus (Linnaean taxonomy). Unlike entities found in the Mythos or Spirit divisions, Cryptids are fundamentally natural animals. They respire, they consume matter, and they bleed. These entities often represent Relict Populations (species presumed extinct, e.g., Plesiosaurs), Divergent Hominids (e.g., Sasquatch), or Adaptive Mutations unique to specific isolated ecosystems.

Primary Characteristics:

Bio-Physical Presence: The entity leaves physical trace evidence (tracks, scat, fur, DNA).
Ecological Niche: The entity operates as an apex predator or elusive scavenger within a definable territory.
Mortal Physiology: The entity can be injured or terminated via conventional kinetic force (ballistics/trauma).
