Bureau Definition: A Spirit is defined as a non-biological manifestation of consciousness or emotional residue. These entities lack a physical body (corpus) and exist primarily as electromagnetic or ectoplasmic energy. They are not “alive” in the biological sense and therefore cannot be terminated via physical force.

This category encompasses human souls (Ghosts), elemental forces (Yokai/Fae), and malevolent projections (Poltergeists). They often manifest in specific locations (“Hauntings”) or attach themselves to objects.

Primary Characteristics:

• Intangibility: The entity cannot be touched or harmed by physical weapons. Bullets will pass through without effect.

• Environmental Manipulation: Presence is indicated by sudden temperature drops, electromagnetic fluctuations (EMF), or telekinetic activity.

• Psychological Hazard: The entity targets the mind or sanity of the observer rather than the body.

Field Advisory: Do not fire your weapon. It is a waste of ammunition and will only agitate the entity. Rely on barrier methods (Salt, Iron), chemical dispersants, or ritualized banishment. If your EMF meter spikes into the red, establish a perimeter and hold the line.
